Napa Valley to Debut Its Own Wine Pavilion at Vinexpo Bordeaux

More than 25 vintners from America’s leading wine region will travel to international trade fair

6/10/2015 - St. Helena, CA – The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) trade association is bringing more than two dozen vintners to Vinexpo Bordeaux, June 14-18, to pour their wines, lead seminars and conduct business with show attendees. This is the first time in the wine region’s history that it will have its own free-standing pavilion at the global wine trade fair.

"Napa Valley is the most well-known and highly respected wine region in the United States," said Stacey Dolan Capitani, vice president of marketing for the 500-plus member trade organization. "With Vinexpo spotlighting the U.S. this year, the time is right for us to step up our presence and share our high quality wines and introduce our talented vintners to the rest of the world."

The Napa Valley pavilion, located in Hall 1/Stand DE-190, will feature different themes each day showcasing the many facets of the diverse wine region, including wines from the highly-regarded 2012 vintage on Sunday, June 14; Cabernet Sauvignon producers on Monday, June 15; wines from Napa Green certified vintners and wines that are sustainably produced on Tuesday, June 16; white wines and non-Cabernet red wines on Wednesday, June 17; and family-owned brands on Thursday, June 18. In addition to pouring wines representing these themes, the vintners will also lead hour-long seminars daily, Sunday through Wednesday, to give Vinexpo attendees the chance to more deeply explore the topics.

Other NVV Vinexpo activities include a Taste & Tweet program on Wednesday, June 17 from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. PDT live from the show’s #DigiZone, a new physical and virtual space for communicators. In keeping with the overall Vinexpo theme, “Taste the Unexpected,” Master of Wine Mark de Vere will host the NVV’s Taste & Tweet featuring three unexpected Napa Valley wines. Wine lovers around the world can follow along and join the conversation using #TasteWithMark.

That evening, from 6 to 7 p.m. PDT, wine educator and author Karen MacNeil will echo Mark’s program from Napa Valley with her own Taste & Tweet featuring six unexpected Napa Valley wines. #SipWithKaren is the hashtag for the second program.
