Locals Receive VIP Treatment from Napa Valley Vintners on Napa Neighbor Day

12/21/2017 - St. Helena, CA —The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit association invites Napa County residents to visit local wineries for Napa Neighbor Day on Saturday, January 13.

NVV started the Napa Neighbor program in 2001 to connect locals with the wine community. Today, more than 160 NVV member wineries are part of the program, offering benefits like complimentary or upgraded tours and wine tasting, as well as special discounts on wine throughout the year.

On Napa Neighbor Day, many of those wineries will enhance their offers with one-day-only specials, such as behind-the-scenes tours with winemakers, library and reserve wine flights, tastings straight from the barrel, expanded purchase discounts and ‘club member for a day’ privileges.

“We can’t wait to meet our neighbors on January 13,” said Peter Mondavi Jr., co-proprietor of Charles Krug, one of the wineries with an enhanced Napa Neighbor Day offering. “While locals can experience the Napa Neighbor program any time of the year, it’s quieter in January and a perfect time for Napa County residents to visit wineries and receive special attention, just for living here.”

Napa Neighbor offers vary by winery and can be viewed at napaneighbor.com. To protect the agricultural nature of Napa Valley and to promote sustainable wine tourism, Napa County requires many wineries to receive visitors by appointment only. Residents should call ahead to see if appointments are necessary at the wineries they wish to visit and bring along proof they live locally, like their driver’s license.
