Napa County Residents Invited to Spend a Morning in the Winery

Napa Valley Vintners sponsors open house event connecting locals with the wine community

12/28/2015 - St. Helena, CA – The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) invites local residents to spend the morning of Saturday, January 9, 2016 at one of six Napa Green Certified Wineries that will open their cellar doors to neighbors for the third annual Morning in the Winery event.

“We all treasure Napa Valley and the quality of life we enjoy here,” commented David R. Duncan, chairman of the NVV Board of Directors and president and CEO of Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars. “Morning in the Winery allows winemakers to demonstrate their passion for this special place and to talk to neighbors about our shared commitment to protecting the environment and building a stronger community. It’s also their chance to explain what it takes to make some of the world’s finest wines.”

The Napa Green Certified Winery program helps wineries to reduce energy and water use and to decrease waste. Participating wineries must implement at least 100 measures that ensure the winery has gone beyond local, state and federal compliance criteria to conserve resources. Certification is granted by the Napa County Department of Environmental Management. Wineries must improve their performance every three years in order to become recertified.

The six wineries that will be open on January 9, 2016 from 10 a.m. to noon include:

Leaf and Vine
190 Camino Oruga #24, Napa

Starmont Winery & Vineyards
