Napa Valley Vintners Announce E-Auction Extravaganza is Live for Viewing

The marvels of these stunning lots to become miracles funding great causes

5/7/2013 - St. Helena, CA--Wine lovers around the world, from novice to enthusiast, can still get in on the action of this year's sold-out Auction Napa Valley: The American Wine Classic by bidding on the event's global E-Auction. Viewing of the more than 170 uniquely exciting lots is now live at auctionnapavalley.org. The E-Auction opens on Sunday, May 26 at 12 p.m. PDT and the e-gavel will fall in four waves starting at 6 p.m. PDT on Sunday, June 2.

The lots offered in the Napa Valley Vintners' E-Auction provide the lucky winning bidder with unparalleled access to collectable verticals of wine; hand-etched, large-format bottles never to be seen again; hidden cellars; tucked-away winery guest houses; and meals made just for two--or for 30 of one's closest friends. Wines from America's premier winegrowing region sold through the E-Auction come directly from the vintner's cellar to the winning bidder.

The purchase of each lot also brings with it the gratitude of people whose lives are touched through programs in the areas of community health and children's education funded by E-Auction proceeds. "By being part of the excitement of bidding on once-in-a-lifetime lots, people are supporting the great causes that are at the heart of the E-Auction," notes Shannon Staglin, whose family is serving as honorary chairs of this year's Auction Napa Valley. "What can be the start of a wine cellar, a private party with a winemaker or perhaps a stay at a Napa Valley winery guest house for the lucky bidder becomes hope and essential resources for the many recipients of Auction proceeds."

With more than 170 E-Auction lots, there is a wide spectrum of offerings to get excited about. Wine enthusiasts are encouraged to visit auctionnapavalley.org, peruse the E-Auction lots and comment on their favorites using #eAuction and #ANV13 or to post comments on the Napa Valley Vintners' Facebook page.

All lots except #301, the "Marvels to Miracles: Moving Children Toward A Brighter Future" fund-a-need lot, include Napa Valley wine as their centerpiece. Bidders supporting lot #301 can pledge any dollar amount, all of which will go directly to agencies that address the needs of children by taking care of their mental and physical health, offering support to parents to ensure a nurturing home life or by helping youth succeed in school.

Other highlights from this year's E-Auction:

  • A private winery tour, wine and cheese pairing and lobster luncheon for 24

  • Three-night stay at a secluded winery guest house, poolside lunch and two PUBLIC cruiser bikes

  • Coveted invitations to exclusive winery celebrations

  • A gallery experience choosing a $10,000 work of art

  • Boat trips, bocce, burrata-making lessons, hot air balloon expeditions and many more unique experiences
