Napa Valley Vintners Announce Auction Napa Valley 2013: Tickets on Sale Now

2/1/2013 - St. Helena, CA--Tickets for Auction Napa Valley: The American Wine Classic, the country's first and most celebrated charity wine auction hosted by the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), are now available. Taking place from May 30 to June 2, Auction Napa Valley 2013 offers a variety of options from "The Complete Auction Experience" to "A Perfect Day in Napa Valley" and "Friday at the Auction," providing a kaleidoscope of ways in which hopeful Auction-goers can be part of the party that transforms extraordinary wines, foods of the gods, and the panoramic beauty of Napa Valley into the well-being of the Napa Valley community.

Auction Napa Valley 2013's honorary chairs are the Staglin family of Staglin Family Vineyard.

"Marvels and miracles will abound at this year's Auction Napa Valley celebration," notes Garen Staglin. "The marvels include the amazing experiences, one-of a-kind auction lots, and over-the-top hospitality that our guests enjoy. The miracles are what we create as a result of Auction Napa Valley for those in our community who need our help."

Highlights from this year's May 30-June 2 Auction weekend include:

Friday Napa Valley Barrel Auction (May 31): drawing nearly 2000 attendees including bidders, chefs, vintners and media from across the US, as well as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Canada and the UK, this walk-around tasting features hundreds of yet-to-be-released Napa Valley wines and dozens of dishes from local chefs. This year's Barrel Auction will be held for the first time at the entertaining and eclectic Raymond Vineyards, in St. Helena.

Saturday Live Auction Celebration at Meadowood Napa Valley (June 1): the centerpiece of the weekend, with 800 guests including bidders, vintners, and media--it's one of the most exciting parties in the wine world with 40 take-your-breath-away offerings of "Firsts, Favorites and Far Away Places" wine, cellar collections, and wine experiences with member vintners.

Culinary Superstars: the June 1 festivities at Meadowood Napa Valley will be far ranging in style, with a lively lunch created by a rare collaboration of eight Bravo Top Chefs and a refined country-style dinner by Chef Joseph Lenn of the acclaimed Blackberry Farm in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Vintner-Hosted Welcome and Hosted Dinner Parties: a perennial favorite of the Auction weekend is the selection of Thursday (May 30) and Friday (May 31) private dinners hosted by the vintners at their homes or wineries from Carneros to Calistoga. These festive, intimate gatherings offer an incredible opportunity to enjoy great food, library-selection wines, and a memorable evening with a Napa Valley vintner.

E-Auction: for those who cannot make it to Napa Valley for the Auction, and even those who do, the online E-Auction provides a chance to bid on more than 150 lots of rare wines and unique Napa Valley experiences--all from any computer or mobile device, anywhere in the world.
