Napa Vintners Host Top Trade and Media from China This Week

9/19/2011 - St Helena, CA--Beginning today and continuing throughout the week, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) non-profit trade association is hosting 21 of The People's Republic of China's top wine trade and media for an educational intensive on the Napa Valley. This NVV signature program for visiting wine professionals is known as Experience Napa Valley. Building on the overwhelming success of the association's Taste Napa Valley in-market visits to China, the Vintners are hosting this influential group to experience Napa Valley first-hand.

"We are delighted to host this impressive group of wine professionals from China here in the Napa Valley this week," said NVV Executive Director Linda Reiff who has led several Vintner trade missions to China, most recently in spring of this year. "This is a perfect complement to building our presence and our relationships in this exciting wine market."

Through the week the group will meet with more than 50 winery principals on topics including the NVV's Napa Valley Rocks which explores the unique attributes of soils, geology, geography, climate, history of the appellation, its leadership in land stewardship, and green initiatives like Napa Green that are leading the wine industry. Along the way they will be greeted by renowned pioneers in the valley's wine industry along with trend-setting up-and-comers at both formal and informal gatherings, and will get out into the vineyard with the NVV's in-field workshop known as "down and dirty."

And the highlights each day will be the chance to taste incredible wines from throughout the appellation and its nested sub-appellations with the vintners who made them showcasing what makes Napa Valley America's premier wine region. Attendees include wine directors from the top restaurants, wine shops and wine media including Jean Georges in Shanghai, Daniel Boulud's Daniel in Beijing, and editors from top publications like Travel + Leisure Magazine based in China, among others.

Past Experience Napa Valley tours have brought top wine trade and media from key markets including the UK, Japan, and Canada since 1995.
