For John and Joy Caldwell, wine enthusiasts will find their vineyard situated among 123 acres in rural Coombsville in the Napa Valley - the source of Wine Country's best wines and a region seldom visited by tourists. Their signature portfolio of 18 estate wines is cellared in the winery's 20,000-square-foot underground cave.
For over three decades, John Caldwell has been instrumental in cultivating the Napa Valley wine industry's awareness of the importance of how French wine grape clones affect wine quality, first, with his book "A Concise Guide to Wine Grape Clones for Professionals" and second, his signing in 1998 of a licensing agreement for all of North America with the French government for their Entav-Inra clones.
