The Vineyards, Ranch, and Winery of Tres Sabores: "Three savory flavors" are nestled against the western Hills of Rutherford where Julie Johnson and her family grow organically certified Zinfandel, Cabernet, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. The Tres Sabores collection comprises three sumptuous bottlings from the ranch: Rutherford Perspective Cabernet Sauvignon, Tres Sabores Zinfandel and a delightful Zinfandel-based blend: ¿Por qué No?. We are also fortunate to source grapes and make a zesty and rich single-vineyard Sauvignon blanc from Farina Vineyard in the Sonoma Mountain appellation of Sonoma County, a lush and wild Petite Sirah from Calistoga and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend featuring the Layne Vineyard of Howell Mountain....All of our wines celebrate the creativity of winemaking, encourage you to explore your own ideas about taste as well as expand your personal enjoyment of wine "beyond terroir".
Visitors to winery are personally welcomed by the owner, winemaker for a tour of the winery and vineyard, as well as a tasting that includes olive oil or pomegranate tastings in season. Guests may make additional arrangements for a vineyard-side picnic gathering under the canopy of a century-old olive grove, barrel tastings as well as a personal introduction to the resident Goldens, sheep, and guinea hens. Travel into the western benchland off Whitehall Lane and discover the distinctive and truly enticing character of Rutherford.

Room Description: During the three, glorious "outside" seasons in the Napa Valley our tasting room is literally at "The Source" of our production with tables under a century-old grove of olives within feet of our Zin and Cab vineyard.
We delight in creating a personalized, "off-the-beaten-track" winery immersion experience for our guests.
Inclement weather translates to a warm and welcoming experience for guests around the cooking island in our home. (The soup's usually on!)

The Tres Sabores wine club "Sabor" (Taste) began early in 2009. Four club shipments are timed for the seasonal release of our four primary wines. In addition, members of the Club will enjoy special access to small-lot, winery-only wines (including a new Petite Sirah and Howell Mountain/Napa Valley Cabernet!), invitations to spring and late summer Sabor events, discounts on purchases and special Tres Sabores events around the country. Each shipment includes wine from the portfolio and special products from the ranch and our culinary discoveries (Tres Sabores organic Olive Oil anyone?). Please contact us for more information.

Romp in the Tres Sabores vineyard with our resident sheep, Guinea Hens, Golden Retrievers (including youngster, "Moose")& our cats, "Violet", and "Miss Lilly". (A natural--organically certified--alternative to the usual petting zoo--) We'll put a glass of wine in your hand and your children.... can skip stones in the pond, explore the cave, make colorful chalk pictures on the crush pad, learn the basics of organic farming, pursue a "scavenger hunt" and in general, thoroughly enjoy themselves. Interested in hiking through our Rutherford appellation area's vineyards? We can arrange it! We take pride in sharing age appropriate education about grapes, grape products and the enjoyment of wine in moderation with our guests. |
