NAPA VALLEY VINTNERS SUPPORT WINDOWS OF HOPE FUND
10/4/2001 - Today, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) Board of Directors pledged $250,000 from the Napa Valley wine industry to the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. This 501(c)3 fund will provide aid to the families of victims who worked in the food service profession throughout the entire World Trade Center complex.
"The sobering events of September 11th have touched all of us deeply through our connections to Windows on the World," says NVV President Margaret Duckhorn of the world-famous restaurant known for its extensive wine list and spectacular views from the top of the World Trade Center. "It will be a long time before this icon is replaced. We can, however, begin to help the families who have suffered so much."

On October 11, restaurants and food establishments throughout the world are asked to donate at least ten percent of their evening's sales to the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. The NVV encourages its member wineries to participate in this effort by contributing a percentage of their winery's tasting room/retail proceeds during the week of October 8th to the fund. Wineries without a tasting/retail facility are encouraged to make a contribution in any amount.
The Napa Valley Vintners will then contribute the additional funds needed to bring the total donation from the Napa Valley wine industry to $250,000.
The Napa Valley Vintners is a professional, nonprofit trade organization representing nearly 200 Napa Valley wineries in marketing and promotional activities throughout the United States and abroad. NVV maintains a Web site at www.napavintners.com.
