Napa Valley Vintners Announce Latest Responsible Beverage Results
NVV Certification Now Nearly 600 Strong
8/16/2010 - The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) in its ongoing leadership in industry best-practices, certified another 60 individuals in its Responsible Beverage Service program on August 13. The certification is a recognized server training of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
This latest session brings the total number of Napa Valley wine servers trained to nearly 600 individuals. To date, 150 Napa Valley wineries have participated in the certification since the program's inception in 2008.
These attendees learned:
-Best practices for responsible beverage service
-Tips for dealing with intoxicated guests
-How to prevent service to minors
All who attended were given a two-year Level 2 certification. These trainings will ensure that participating wineries are compliant with local alcohol-service regulations, making for a safe and enjoyable visitor experience. On the business side, the training and certification may help to reduce the wineries' insurance costs.
The NVV currently offers Responsible Hospitality Service Training to its members at regular intervals in-person, and year-round via its members-only online resource website.
