Napa Valley Vintners' Annual Mid-Winter Barrel Auction for the Trade
One day each year in February, nearly 200 Napa Valley Vintners gather to offer select members of the wine trade the opportunity to taste from the barrel and bid on wines created solely for this event, to be bought by only one bidder.
Each of these wines is a one-of-a-kind, blend, variety, appellation, or vineyard or barrel designation unique to the winery, or a collaboration among two or more winemakers. Primarily from the 2006 vintage, this year's exclusive Premiere Napa Valley wines were available as 5-case, 10-case or 20-case lots to be released at the discretion of the vintner, specially labeled, individually numbered and bottled in 750ml or 1.5L bottles.
Nowhere else can you obtain such rare wines.
For the trade, Premiere Napa Valley is also a place to rub elbows and compare notes, visit with old friends and make new ones. To see what some of the world's greatest winemakers come up with when all bets are off.
