2/15/2012 - St Helena, CA--The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) will honor Ichizo Nakagawa of Nakagawa Trading Company from Tokyo, Japan as an esteemed ambassador of the wine region on Wednesday, February 22 in Napa Valley. Mr. Nakagawa and his distribution company have been key to the Napa Valley's long-term success in the Japanese market as well as the success of the NVV's annual association fundraiser, Premiere Napa Valley.

"Mr. Nakagawa has been extremely supportive of our appellation and we look forward to his annual visit to join us for Premiere Napa Valley. While he is with us this year the NVV Board of Directors voted to recognize his friendship and loyal business relationships with our vintners," said Linda Reiff, NVV Executive Director.

The celebration will take place at Auberge du Soleil with its sweeping views of the Napa Valley hosted by NVV Board President Rick Jones of Jones Family Vineyards, Premiere founding chair Dan Duckhorn of Duckhorn Vineyards, Randy and Debbie Lewis of Lewis Cellars, Premiere 2012 chairs Erle Martin and Michael Beaulac of Pine Ridge Vineyards, Celia Welch of Scarecrow Wine, Hugh Davies of Schramsberg Vineyards, Tor Kenward of TOR Kenward Family Wines and Tuck Beckstoffer of Tuck Beckstoffer Wines.

In 2011 at the Premiere Napa Valley auction, Mr. Nakagawa received a rousing standing ovation from the standing-room-only gathering of fellow wine trade members when he closed the day's high bid on a five case lot of Scarecrow wine. The wines procured at Premiere are all one-of-kind bottlings, 200 unique wines offered each year, crafted as micro production in as few as 60 and never more than 240 bottles under the label Premiere Napa Valley.
