Napa Valley Vintners Launches Social Networking Sites and Online Event Calendar

One-stop source for events hosted by Napa Valley wineries in Napa Valley and around the world

7/10/2009 - St. Helena, CA -- The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) has launched an online calendar of events that are being hosted by the non-profit trade association and its nearly 350 member wineries. Listings include full details of events happening both in Napa Valley and around the world and can be found on the homepage at www.napavintners.com.

"With thousands of wine lovers visiting the Napa Valley Vintners' website every day for wine and winery information, we felt it made sense to offer a 'one-stop shop' for information on events that our member wineries and our organization host or participate in," said NVV Executive Director Linda Reiff.

The event calendar starts on the home page with a jump to a page that allows viewers to review and sort through all events by month or type of event, such as wine education, wine and food pairing, live entertainment, vineyard tours and more. Each listing gives date, time location, event description, how to register and cost, plus a map linking to the location and links to share or bookmark the information through more than 60 social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, Digg and more.

Are you a Fan?
And the trade association has launched a "Napa Valley Vintners" Facebook Fan Page where Facebook users can learn more about the Napa Valley appellation, events, and activities by joining their virtual community. "We are excited to be part of these exciting new media, creating greater connection in the world with those with an affinity for Napa Valley and its wines," said Bruce Cakebread of Cakebread Cellars, who chairs the NVV's Marketing and Promotions Committee. "It's a brave new world out there, and the NVV seeks to be a relevant part of what folks are calling this 'Age of Communication'," he continued. Facebook users can become fans at www.facebook.com/NapaVintners.

And in the Twit-o-sphere
The NVV is also using Twitter to provide quick shout-outs about all things Napa Valley. Tweeters can find the trade association at www.twitter.com/NapaVintners.
